The Treasure Valley Family YMCA in Meridian, Idaho, sent a Father’s Day message to “all the dads and dad figures” in its Y family.

In its Facebook post, the YMCA said Father’s Day started at the Y more than 110 years ago. It reported that the first Father’s Day celebration was held at the Spokane YMCA on June 19, 1910.

The post thanked fathers and father figures for helping “keep our families and our community healthy and strong.”
