The Meridian Police Department posted a message on Facebook about its Youth Academy 2026 Class 6. The department said the annual academy brings together young people from across the Treasure Valley, and that some participants are interested in law enforcement careers while others joined for a fun summer activity.

In its post, the department said it spent a week with the youth and got to know them. It said many participants are expected to return in future years, potentially as officers or in other roles within the department.

The department credited support for the academy from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center, the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ada County Coroner’s Office. It also thanked Uncle Bob’s Pizza as the lunch sponsor for supporting the youth program.

Meridian Police said applications for Youth Academy 2027 will be available in early spring 2027. The department directed people to www.meridiancity.org/ya for more information.
