Rocky Mount Leaders Recognized for Community Service

Rocky Mount, NC – Chief Robert Hassell of the Rocky Mount Police Department has been honored as Citizen of the Year by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. – Alpha Omicron Chapter. The fraternity recognized his dedication and service to the community.

Additionally, Chief Darvin Moore of the Rocky Mount Fire Department has been named Omega Man of the Year. His commitment to the safety and well-being of the community has earned him this distinction.

Both leaders have received recognition for their contributions to Rocky Mount, showcasing their ongoing commitment to public service.

Rocky Mount Police Investigate Child’s Fatal Dog Attack

Rocky Mount police said officers responded to an animal attack on Star Street involving a 2-year-old who later died at UNC Nash Hospital. The two dogs involved were surrendered to animal services, and the investigation is ongoing.
