Reggie Jackson has been appointed as the new Community Engagement Coordinator for the Rocky Mount Police Department in North Carolina. A native of Miami, Reggie brings extensive experience in community justice, education, and nonprofit leadership to the role.

This position was established by Chief Robert Hassell in 2021 to enhance partnerships between the police and the community while fostering positive engagement. The first person to hold this position was Yolanda Thigpen, who has since advanced in her career as a cadet at the Rocky Mount Police Academy.

Reggie Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Sociology, with additional studies in Dublin. His previous roles include Director of Operations at KIPP Pride High School and Director of Community Justice for the Urban League of Broward County. Jackson is recognized for his expertise in program development and Restorative Justice.
