Public Input Needed for Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

Staff Report / RockyMountlocal.org

The N.E.W. Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan is currently being updated, and officials are seeking public input regarding risks, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for mitigation in Nash, Edgecombe, and Wilson counties. A comprehensive hazard mitigation plan aims to evaluate all possible activities to address issues effectively.

Residents can participate in a virtual public meeting scheduled for October 30 from 5 to 6 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the plan update process, review identified hazards, and provide feedback to the planning team.

People can register for the meeting and access a public survey on the project's website at www.new-hmp.com. There are also QR codes available for quick registration and survey access.

For more information, individuals can visit the given website or register through the link provided by the City of Rocky Mount, NC.
